Who Replaces Gronk at Number 1

The Tight End position will have a drastically different look this season.  Since coming into the league in 2010 Gronk was the player you targeted at the tight end position.  He was the one you would reach into the first or second round to draft, to have a big advantage over your league at the position.  In his first six season he reached double digits in tuddies five of those season, achieving a league leading 17 in 2011.  His numbers would match up with top WR options.  Starting this season someone else will wear that crown.  Lets take a look at some of the top options to take the crown.

Travis Kelce – Kansas City Chiefs

The tight end position has really evolved and out of the guys that could replace Gronk, Kelce has the longest track record of production.  He is coming off a season of 103 rec. for 1336 yards and 10 tuddies.  It will sound crazy but he will likely improve on those numbers with Patrick Mahomes working in Andy Reid’s offense I do not think 1500 yards is out of the question for this talented tight end.

George Kittle – San Francisco 49ers

Kittle had a break out season in 2018 with 1377 receiving yards.  He only had five tuddies but this is likely to improve with starting quarterback returning from injury.  Kittle is young and does not have the track record of Kelce but the up side is certainly there as the focal point the 49ers offense.

Zach Ertz – Philadelphia Eagles

Ertz has been a solid TE and like Kittle had a break out season in 2018 with 116 rec. for 1163 yards.  He had nine games with double digits rec including two games with 16 rec.  In PPR leagues he will give you some huge weeks at the TE position making your team a tough out in those weeks.
